Abused Women's Aid in Crisis (AWAIC)

AWAIC is the largest emergency domestic violence shelter in Alaska, with 67 beds available for adults and children who have been affected by domestic violence. We also offer a 24-hour crisis and support line (907-272-0100) for anyone who needs help or is concerned about someone they care about. AWAIC strives to empower each survivor we work with to make their own positive life choices, providing encouragement and support along the way. We offer a wide range of services for survivors, including individualized case management, transitional housing, education and support groups, legal advocacy, and more. AWAIC also works to prevent future domestic violence through community education. As a nonprofit organization, we couldn’t do any of this critical work without the generous support of our community!
